Cancer is relentess. But so are we. 

My reason for running

In the last year cancer has been a major part of my family’s life. My mum Pip, faced both lung cancer and thyroid cancer last year. Every 6 months she has to go through test after test to make sure she still has a future. She calls it like having a shadow on your shoulder.

This is not the first time the shadow that is cancer has entered my family’s life. On my 21st birthday I hugged my wonderful Aunt Joanne goodbye, not knowing that it would be the last time I would see her. She passed a month later from lung cancer. Research and technology has come a long way since 2010 and that research saved my mums life.

So that is why I am running, so the research can keep saving lives and keeping the shadow at bay. To make sure my mum is safe for more adventures and my nephew Finn will have his Nanna Pip to play trains and cars with for many more years.
