In memory of my grandfather

As the year winds down, I find myself reflecting on one of the biggest changes I’ve made this year—running. At the start of 2024, I made a New Year’s resolution to start running multiple times a week. What started as a personal fitness goal has now grown into something much more meaningful.

I’m excited to share that I’m taking part in my first sponsored run—a 10K. For me, this isn’t just about the miles, the training, or even the finish line. It’s about something far deeper. I’ve chosen to run in support of Cancer Research, a cause that holds an incredibly special place in my heart. 

Like so many of us, I’ve had family members who have battled cancer. Losing loved ones to this cruel disease has shaped my life in ways I can’t fully express. So, when I had the chance to combine my new love for running with something that means so much to me, it felt like the right thing to do.

Running this 10K is my way of honouring the memory of my grandfather who suffered from Bowel cancer as well as showing my support for the ongoing fight to find a cure. Every step I take will be in his memory, and I hope the funds I’m able to raise will contribute to the incredible work Cancer Research is doing. 

I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2025.
