I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2025.
Years ago, whilst watching the Bake Off Stand up to Cancer, Nige turned to me and said he’d be the 1 in 2 for us. Being a man, he obviously cannot remember this, but in October last year it became our reality as Nige was diagnosed with throat cancer just weeks after I’d signed up to run a nice fun 10k with friends from the running club. A whirlwind of emotions, scans, feeding tubes, and 6 weeks of aggressive chemoradiotherapy later, this week has seen the end of Nige’s treatment. We are very lucky to live close by fantastic state of the art cancer treatment centres offering what feels like futuristic treatments, along side our amazing friends and family to get us through the treatment and hopefully start his recovery.
