Cancer is relentess. But so are we. 

Can we even run 10K?

I phoned my mum this week. She was very excited. She'd received a random email from Cancer Research UK about the Winter Run 2025 10K and decided to sign up. She'd already persuaded her sister to do the same and now, somehow, she's corralled me into it! 

We've (separately) been running 5Ks on and off since doing Couch-to-5K in Covid lockdown or around that time, my memory is hazy. Actually, Auntie Louise is more committed. She does her local Park Run (Pymms, London) nearly every Saturday and practices during the week now that she's retired. She's started extending her time and trying to run faster. Mum often runs further than me (we share our times on Strava). I think I've only done further than 5K once before and that was not deliberate! We are all painfully slow (sorry ladies, it's true).

I haven't been running (other than to catch a train) since Sittingbourne Park Run in July. So running a 10K is going to be interesting. BUT.... this is a great cause - cancer is a big pile of poo and more funds help more people.

So, please chip in a couple of quid or whatever you can afford to support Cancer Research UK and keep us motivated.
